Karen G. Connors is an Army Brat and an Army Wife. Living on military bases made her keenly aware of the support system these areas provide for military families. As a member of the AUSA Executive Committee (and Army Ball Committee), she organizes the effort to escort Wounded Warriors to the annual Army Birthday Ball.
Karen is the chair of the Military Affairs Committee for Florida Citrus Sports and a mentor in the Mentor Leadership Program for the Camaraderie Foundation. She also works with the VA, Florida Realtors Association and the City of Orlando on Heroes Commons at Jefferson – a housing initiative for minority veterans.
This year the CFL WID Chapter is planning a few special events. The first is our Bowling Fundraiser, which will be held at Firkin and Kegler in May, to raise funds for our STEM Scholarship. In August, we will be celebrating the CFL WID Chapter’s 5th Anniversary. The CFL WID Special Projects Directors are looking for interested CFL WID members to assist in the planning of these events. If you’re interested in supporting the Bowling Fundraiser, please contact Valentina Merkulova at firstname.lastname@example.org. For those interested in planning the 5th Anniversary Celebration, please contact Beth Biddle at email@example.com.
Thanks in advance for your enthusiasm and support for our CFL WID Chapter!
